  • Doorstep Delivery service is available to residents who are physically unable to visit the library, by reason of disability or infirmity for a period of three months or longer. Once a month, staff will bring library materials to your home. Like personal shoppers, we do our best to select items based on each individual’s tastes and needs. To be eligible for Doorstep Delivery you must live within the Library’s service area and complete an application for outreach services. As part of the application process, we will ask about your favorite authors and subjects to create your personal profile. You can also request specific items for delivery.

  • To be eligible for the Doorstep Delivery service, you must live in the library’s service area. You must also complete the Service Card Application, which is very similar to a regular card except it also requests a secondary contact, and a Material Preferences Questionnaire. The questionnaire is more detailed on the website, asking about favorite authors and subjects. Staff and patrons can start the process by filling out the online form.

Staff must first verify the address is within the service area before proceeding, which is within the city limits.

  • You are assigned to a set route and receive their delivery on the same day each month. You can provide a list of requested titles or staff will choose materials based on their profile. You receive an extended checkout period of one month, and packages are usually prepared a day in advance, since sometimes we use different staff to deliver.

  • We use T-shirt bags made by the Enderlin FACS class, which can hold up to 5 large books, which keeps weight manageable.

  • Staff members will call you in the morning as a reminder and to check for last minute requests. If the you aren’t home, items are left in a covered area, and we ask them to set out any returns. We encourage frequent communication, knowing more about a your preferences helps us improve their selections.
